English-language courses (ELICOS) are designed to help international students to improve their English language skills so that they are able to progress with their education or working life in Australia. These courses are essential so you are able to meet the English language requirements of your institution or simply develop confidence in your ability to interact with others. ELICOS are offered by secondary schools, TAFE institutes, universities, private colleges and specialist English language centres. A number of institutions are affiliated with English language schools and will ‘package’ English language preparation courses with vocational or higher education courses.

• English for special purposes (English for Business, for example)
• PTE, IELTS and TOEFL test preparation
• Cambridge test preparation
• Study tour programs, which include other extracurricular activities.

3. Good knowledge of English will allow you to access movies, music and literature from hundreds of countries globally, not to mention that numerous books  are translated into English widely. Few experiences will make you grow as a person more than learning the values, habits and way of life in a culture that differs from yours.
4. As international students, one of the conditions in your student visa is that you are allowed up to 40 hours per fortnight of work or unlimited hours during semester break! This is a great opportunity to practice your skills outside a classroom setting.
